IDEAL FOR
Discerning travelers seeking an extraordinary experience
A bespoke 11 nights journey through Baja California — designed entirely around your preferences, pace, and vision of extraordinary. Every detail is curated by advisors who know this destination from the inside.
Baja California's contrasts captivate — where Mediterranean-climate vineyards produce Mexico's finest wines just hours from Pacific surf breaks, and desert landscapes transition to the Sea of Cortez's turquoise waters. This journey ventures beyond typical Mexico experiences into terrain where California's wine culture meets Baja's raw beauty.
From architect-designed wine resorts to artist colonies between desert and ocean, discover the peninsula that sophisticated travelers are calling the next great wine and wellness destination. Every culinary moment — from Corazón de Tierra's 14-course tasting menus to El Farallon's cliffside seafood — is arranged through relationships built over years.
Best experienced during September–May (optimal weather, whale watching December–April), this 11-night journey can be extended to include La Paz for sea kayaking and diving, or shortened to focus on Valle de Guadalupe wine country exclusively.

The Journey
Your Itinerary
Chapter 01
Chapter 01 — Arrival in Valle de Guadalupe
Cross the border from San Diego or fly into Tijuana. Transfer to Encuentro Guadalupe, the architectural eco-resort perched on a hillside overlooking vineyards and valleys. Settle into your minimalist adobe-style casita before sunset wine tasting on your private terrace. Dinner at Deckman's en el Mogor, Drew Deckman's open-fire restaurant cooking with local ingredients and estate wines.
Chapter 02
Chapter 02 — Wine Country Immersion
Morning tastings at established estates: Monte Xanic (the valley's first modern winery) and L.A. Cetto (historic producer). Lunch at Corazón de Tierra, where chef Diego Hernández creates 14-course tasting menus from his organic farm and local fishermen. Afternoon at boutique wineries: Vena Cava (built from repurposed boat hulls) and Adobe Guadalupe (with its resident horses). Return to Encuentro for spa treatments and stargazing from the observation deck.
Chapter 03
Chapter 03 — Olive Groves & Artisan Producers
Visit Finca La Carrodilla for olive oil tasting — the valley produces exceptional extra virgin oils. Continue to Bruma for wine and craft beer pairing, then lunch at Fauna, Javier Plascencia's contemporary Mexican restaurant. Afternoon exploring Valle de Guadalupe's art galleries and roadside stands selling local honey, goat cheese, and preserves. Dinner at Conchas de Piedra, the seafood restaurant in nearby Puerto Nuevo.
Chapter 04
Chapter 04 — Ensenada: Pacific Gateway
Day trip to Ensenada, the port city 30 minutes west. Morning at La Bufadora, the marine geyser blowing seawater 100 feet high. Lunch at Manzanilla, Benito Molina and Solange Muris's acclaimed restaurant featuring Baja Med cuisine — Mediterranean techniques applied to Baja ingredients. Afternoon wine tasting at Santo Tomás, Mexico's oldest winery (1888), then return to Valle de Guadalupe for farewell dinner at Latitud 32°, another Plascencia restaurant.
Chapter 05
Chapter 05 — Todos Santos: Desert Oasis
Transfer south through Baja's desert landscapes (6 hours or short flight to La Paz, then 1 hour drive). Check into Hotel San Cristóbal, the luxury boutique property on the Pacific. Afternoon exploring Todos Santos' art galleries — this colonial town attracts artists escaping Los Cabos' tourism. Sunset drinks at the hotel's rooftop bar, then dinner at Hierbabuena, the farm-to-table restaurant in a historic house.
Chapter 06
Chapter 06 — Surf & Art
Morning surf lesson at one of Todos Santos' legendary breaks — Cerritos Beach for beginners, La Pastora for experienced surfers. The town's consistent swells attract surfers worldwide. Afternoon visiting galleries: Ezra Katz Studio, Galería de Todos Santos, and the cultural center. Stop at Hotel California (inspiration for the Eagles song — allegedly). Dinner at Jazamango, Mexican-Mediterranean fusion in a garden setting.
Chapter 07
Chapter 07 — Organic Farms & Coastal Exploration
Visit local organic farms supplying Todos Santos' restaurants — meet farmers practicing regenerative agriculture in desert conditions. Lunch at Benno, the German bakery and lunch spot beloved by locals. Afternoon beach time — choose between Pacific surf or calmer Punta Lobos. Optional horseback riding along the beach. Farewell dinner at Santo Vino, wine bar and restaurant.
Chapter 08
Chapter 08 — Los Cabos: Desert Luxury
Transfer to Las Ventanas al Paraíso, Rosewood's ultra-luxury Los Cabos resort on the Sea of Cortez. Check into your ocean-view suite with personal telescope for whale watching (December–April). Afternoon at the resort's Spa al Paraíso. Dinner at Arbol at Las Ventanas or venture to Acre, the farm-to-table restaurant with its own cocktail bar and treehouse.
Chapter 09
Chapter 09 — Sea of Cortez
Private yacht charter exploring the marine preserve — snorkeling with sea lions at Los Islotes, swimming at pristine beaches accessible only by boat. Lunch aboard prepared by the yacht's chef. Afternoon whale watching (season permitting) or diving/snorkeling at Cabo Pulmo, the marine park with North America's oldest living coral reef.
Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — Desert Adventures
Morning desert experience — ATV through arroyos, hiking in the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, or visiting ancient cave paintings with indigenous guide. Lunch at Flora Farms, the 25-acre organic farm producing ingredients for its restaurant. Afternoon at leisure — beach, pool, or spa. Farewell dinner at El Farallon at The Resort at Pedregal, the cliffside restaurant accessed through a tunnel carved into the rock.
Chapter 11
Chapter 11 — Departure
Morning at leisure before transfer to Los Cabos International Airport for departure.

Your dedicated travel advisor will reshape every element — accommodations, pacing, dining, private guides, and experiences — entirely around your preferences, travel style, and what you want to remember. Nothing is off the shelf.
For peak-season travel and premium properties — particularly safari lodges like Singita Ebony Lodge or Delaire Graff Estate — we recommend booking 6 to 12 months in advance. You work with a dedicated travel advisor and receive Virtuoso preferred partner benefits — complimentary upgrades, resort credits, daily breakfast, and VIP arrival — on every qualifying stay, membership or not. Membership adds waived planning fees, a dedicated senior advisor, priority access to private events, and deeper concierge support.
A dedicated HauteBlack travel advisor contacts you within 24 hours — usually sooner. They'll start with a conversation, not a form. You'll discuss your vision, travel style, dates, and any preferences. From there, your advisor builds a fully bespoke itinerary proposal.
